Supporting our communities

The Council is committed to encouraging local groups to support their communities through the services and facilities they can offer.

Supporting inclusive communities and reducing social isolation is the objective. Dedicated staff can help with:

  • setting up community and voluntary groups;
  • governance;
  • finance and funding;
  • policies and procedures;
  • human resources;
  • representation and engagement;
  • volunteer development; and
  • building capacity.

Over the winter months, you can come along to one of our community development drop-in clinics and talk to us about your plans and ideas.

Local community groups are encouraged to come along and seek advice on funding, training, signposting or support.

At our evening funding clinics, funding providers will be there to provide information on a range of funding opportunities.
