Bikes, boards and Bells Lane Park

Building on the success of the BMX track at Bells Lane Park, the only national standard BMX track in Northern Ireland, further improvements are planned for the year ahead. 

In partnership with Lisburn BMX Club, we’re exploring ways to enhance the track’s starter gate, with proposals to upgrade the start hill to five metres which is typically used in amateur UCI sanctioned BMX races. 

George Gordon, Chairman of Lisburn BMX Club, said: "We welcome the proposal to upgrade our start hill to five metres, which will allow our riders to train at the appropriate level of difficulty. We’re all very excited about this fantastic opportunity and also welcome the integration of a skate park into the existing landscape."

Once the design is finalised, it is expected this new facility should be open by summer 2026 and will bring a fun, aesthetically pleasing space suitable for all wheel sports.
