Throughout December and January, we will be sharing simple ways to reduce, reuse and recycle to help you stay on Santa’s nice list by reducing your environmental impact.
Councillor Pat Catney, Environment and Sustainability Committee Chair said: “Christmas is a wonderful time of year, but it can also create a lot of waste - from extra packaging and food waste to discarded decorations. But with a few simple changes, we can all have a magical holiday while being kind to the environment.”
“An eco-friendly Christmas doesn’t mean sacrificing traditions or cutting back on the fun. It’s about being mindful of the choices we make choosing sustainable gifts, minimising food waste, and embracing reusable and recyclable materials.”
“I’d encourage everyone to follow us on social media and share our tips with friends and family.”
“Together, we can all enjoy a magical Christmas that’s kind to both our loved ones and the environment.”
