Global leader in pharmaceutical packaging testing, Sepha has begun construction on its new headquarters, which supports international growth and innovation on the Comber Road, Dundonald.
Sepha will become the anchor tenant at this new development with its 21,000 sq. ft purpose-built facility. Set to open in late 2025, it will bring research and development, production and office operations under one roof to create a high tech facility.
Councillor Claire Kemp, Chair of Regeneration and Growth Committee, has welcomed the announcement of major investment in Lisburn and Castlereagh: “Sepha’s investment in a new state-of-the-art headquarters in Dundonald is a fantastic boost for our local economy.
"This significant development not only secures high-quality jobs in the area but also demonstrates strong confidence in Dundonald as a thriving location for innovation and advanced manufacturing.
“We welcome continued commitment to the community, which will help drive further regeneration, support local businesses, and position Lisburn and Castlereagh as a key hub for growth and investment well into the future.”
Founded in Northern Ireland in 1980, Sepha designs and manufactures equipment for testing the integrity of pharmaceutical packaging. It is trusted by major pharmaceutical companies in over 70 countries as its innovative technology accurately detects leaks and defects in a variety of pharmaceutical packaging types. It does not use dyes, solvents, or destructive methods, resulting in a clean, efficient and sustainable testing process that generates less waste.
Sepha Managing Director, Paul Smith, comments: “We’re proud to be making a significant investment in a new headquarters within the Lisburn & Castlereagh Council area. We’re especially pleased to remain in Dundonald, where Sepha has been based for many years, and to strengthen our commitment to the local economy and community we value so highly.
“This purpose-built facility will bring all our teams together under one roof, fostering greater collaboration and supporting innovation as we continue to grow internationally. We regularly welcome visitors from across the USA, EU, and Asia, and this location offers excellent access to Belfast City Airport and the city centre, while also benefiting from the great hospitality in East Belfast.
“Importantly, remaining close to our existing premises allows us to retain our highly skilled team, ensuring continuity as we move forward. The option to build on the Comber Road site catered for all of these needs, providing the ideal base to showcase our engineering excellence and reinforce our commitment to creating high quality jobs and opportunities here in Northern Ireland.”
Sepha also creates high quality medical packaging solutions and designs machinery that safely recovers and returns high value pharmaceutical tablets and capsules from blister packs to manufacturers.
