Lisburn & Castlereagh City Council will host two evenings of enchantment and magical entertainment for all the family this Halloween. Twilight Nights will take place in Wallace Park, Lisburn on both Wednesday 25th October from 6.30pm to 8.30pm and Thursday 26th October from 7.00pm to 9.00pm.
Making their Northern Ireland debut, Brighton based theatre company, ‘Puppets with Guts’ will perform, ‘The Lips’, a playful trio of luminous, large scale, lip-synching divas, whose mouths have broken free from their bodies! These big puppets will lead the community lantern parade through Lisburn City Centre to Wallace Park where they will delight audiences with a luminous giant puppet singalong show.
A fantastical array of performers, entertainers, dancers and musicians will pop-up amongst the Victorian park’s illuminated trails, to delight revellers of all ages.
To cater for our younger residents and those who are sensitive to noises, lights and crowds we are hosting a ‘Relaxed Twilight Night’ on Wednesday 25th October. In the safe space of Wallace Park our residents can enjoy a silent disco, a twilight light trail and performances from local groups.
Thursday 26th October will see the return of our traditional Twilight Night fun with a fireworks and laser light show and a lantern parade through the city centre. The parade will start at 6.40pm at Bow Street Mall and make its way to Wallace Park.
Tickets for both events will go on sale 5th October at 1.00pm. The cost is £2 per person and £10 for a family of 6 on Wednesday 25th October ‘Relaxed Twilight Night’ and £3 per person or £15 for a family of 6 for Thursday 26th October.
Councillor Thomas Beckett, Communities and Wellbeing Chairman, welcoming these events said: “I am delighted a relaxed night is being hosted for our residents to make this an all-inclusive event. We expect our two events will be in demand with residents primed and ready to buy their tickets at 1.00pm on 5th October. The tickets will initially be available for residents of Lisburn & Castlereagh only.
“Twilight Night is an enchanting Halloween experience enjoyed by many families. I am looking forward to seeing the magical transformation of Wallace Park into a theatrical wonderland that will dazzle and delight.
“To ensure everyone’s safety entry to Wallace Park is by pre-purchased ticket only. Please remember these are outdoor events, so please dress according to the weather and ground conditions.”
