You can register your baby’s birth within the Lisburn & Castlereagh City Council area at the Registration Office, Lisburn.
How to register a birth
By law, babies born in Northern Ireland must be registered within 42 days of the birth. This is free and can be completed at any Registration Office in Northern Ireland.
Information to complete prior to your appointment
You must complete a Birth Registration Form.
Please email the completed form to bdm.registration@lisburncastlereagh.gov.uk
Our team will then contact you to book an appointment to attend our registration office.
If you are unable to complete the form electronically, please print it out, complete it by hand, photograph it and email it to: bdm.registration@lisburncastlereagh.gov.uk
Alternatively, if you are unable to complete the form, we can arrange for you to attend 15 minutes earlier to your appointment time to complete the form. Please note the process will however take longer at the appointment.
If you have any special requirements for birth registration, please email bdm.registration@lisburncastlereagh.gov.uk with your contact details or ring 028 9244 7263 and we will contact you as soon as possible.
Please ensure that all information is completed accurately as the birth registration cannot be changed once completed.
