An interactive STEM careers experience

STEM in Action is a dynamic careers event designed to help young people discover the exciting opportunities available within STEM industries.

This is not a traditional careers fair. Through live demonstrations, immersive experiences, employer engagement and practical challenges, students will gain valuable insight into STEM careers, education pathways and future opportunities.

Students will rotate through four interactive zones during their visit.

Zone 1: STEM in Action Live

Experience STEM like never before with Mark the Science Guy.

Through interactive demonstrations and engaging experiments, students will see how science, technology and engineering can be exciting, accessible and relevant to everyday life.

Zone 2: Space in Action

Delivered in partnership with Armagh Planetarium, this immersive experience will explore the world of space, innovation and technology.

Students will discover Northern Ireland's contribution to the global space sector and learn about career opportunities within one of the world's fastest-growing industries.

Zone 3: Employer Engagement Zone

Meet leading STEM employers alongside colleges, universities and training providers.

Students will have the opportunity to:

  • Explore STEM career pathways
  • Learn about apprenticeships
  • Discover further and higher education opportunities
  • Gain advice directly from industry professionals
  • Understand the skills employers are looking for

This zone is designed to help young people make informed decisions about their future.

Zone 4: STEM Challenge Zone

Students will take part in a hands-on challenge that encourages problem-solving, teamwork and creativity.

The challenge will demonstrate how classroom learning can be applied to real-world careers and workplaces.

STEM passport and prize draw

Every student will receive a STEM Passport to guide them through the event.

Students will collect experiences and insights from each zone, engage with exhibitors and record what they have learned throughout the day.

Completed passports will be entered into a prize draw for a chance to win exciting prizes.
