The Garden of Reflection at Lagan Valley Island, Lisburn, was officially opened on Thursday 23rd May 2019.
Featuring a stone sculpture and four benches, engraved with the names of loved ones who have passed away, the garden provides a quiet place for relatives to go and remember those that are so dear to them.
Every year, at the Garden of Reflection, the Mayor of Lisburn & Castlereagh City Council leads a ceremony for those who wish to remember children who have been lost through miscarriage, by being born asleep or through neonatal loss, as well as any young person who has sadly passed away under the age of 18.
This year’s ceremony will take place on Thursday 23rd May 2024. The Mayor, Cllr Andrew Gowan invites families who have experienced this loss to send in the names of children or young people to be engraved on a plaque in the Garden of Reflection.
If you would like your loved one to be remembered in this way, please register here before 4pm on Monday 18 March 2024.
Full details of this year’s ceremony will be published in due course.
