We face a huge problem with stray and unwanted dogs within the Lisburn and Castlereagh area. We scan each dog collected to get the owner's details from the dog's microchip to enable the dog to be successfully returned.
Should the dog not be microchipped we will rehome it.

What happens to stray or lost dogs
Most people think of a stray dog as one without a home. This is not the case. The Dogs (NI) Order 1983 describes a stray dog as any dog that is not on its owner’s property and not accompanied by any person. The Enforcement Officers can seize any straying dog and impound it until the owner can be traced.
All stray and unwanted dogs are cared for by our Kennelling provider, Nutts Corner Boarding Kennels
Stray dogs are kept for 5 days after which the kennels will seek to rehome the dog.
Rehoming stray dogs
We actively seek to rehome any dogs that are not reclaimed or any unwanted dogs that are brought to the kennels by their owners.
