The Yellow Weather Warning issued by the Met Office in respect of Storm Boelo expired on Sunday 25 October.
Council staff have now completed extensive site inspections across the borough and we are pleased to advise that all council services have resumed normal operations.
Council Events
- Athletics NI event due to take place in Billy Neill on Sunday has been rescheduled until 1st November
Parks and open spaces
All LCCC parks and open spaces are now reopened to the public.
We thank residents for their understanding and cooperation during the period of disruption. With weather warnings becoming more frequent, the Council urges the public to exercise caution when visiting parks and open spaces during unsettled weather conditions.
Cemeteries
All council cemeteries are now open and operating as normal.
Football pitches and golf courses
All outdoor facilities at:
- Castlereagh Hills Golf Course
- Aberdelghy Golf Course
- Lough Moss Leisure Centre 3G Pitch
- Laurel Hill Sports Zone 3G Pitch
- Football Factory pitches at Lagan Valley LeisurePlex
are operating as normal.
The indoor Trackman Studio at Castlereagh Hills Golf Club remains open.
Household Recycling Centres
Our three Household Recycling Centres at:
- Drumlough
- The Cutts
- Carryduff
are operating as normal.
Indoor facilities
All council indoor facilities are operating as normal.
Further Weather Warning
The Met Office has issued a Yellow Weather Warning for wind covering parts of Northern Ireland from 3.00am to 11.59pm on Tuesday 27 October 2026.
Council officers will continue to monitor the situation and provide updates as necessary.
