Service updates - Adverse weather

Due to an amber weather warning for high winds and a yellow weather warning for heavy rain associated with Storm Chandra, some council services and facilities may be affected on Tuesday 27 January.

Bin & Recycling Box Collections

Bin and Recycling Box collection update

Due to storm Chandra, bin and recycling box collections scheduled for Tuesday 27th January were cancelled. 

Bins not collected on Tuesday 27th January should be presented for 6am on Wednesday 28th January and we will endeavour to collect them at the earliest opportunity.

Recycling boxes not collected on Tuesday 27th January should be presented on Tuesday 3rd February, with any additional recycling placed in overflow bags. Only put one type of material in each bag. Never put glass in overflow bags.

Parks and play parks 

All of our parks and play parks are now reopen. 

Football pitches and golf courses

Our two golf courses at Aberdelghy and Castlereagh Hills will remain closed on Wednesday 28th January. 

Household Recycling Centres

Our three HRCs at Drumlough, The Cutts and Carryduff are now open. 

Car parks

Governors Road Car Park and Benson Street Car Park will be closed on Tuesday 27th January due to a concern with the proximity of trees in this area. 

Cemeteries 

All cemeteries are now reopen.

Gyms 

The Vitality Gym at Billy Neill MBE Country Park is now reopen.
