Sometimes ‘unauthorised or illegal’ building works can be undertaken. If this is the case a Regularisation Application must be applied for.

N.B . This fee is set by Department of Finance at a rate of 120% of the fee for small buildings, extensions and alterations, or estimated cost of the works for works outside of these descriptions.

What happens once I have submitted my building notice application?
We will inspect the work to ensure that it would have met the regulations that were in use when the works were carried out.
Following an assessment of the works, we can issue a Regularisation Certificate which will identify retrospective approval, if the works comply.
Site inspections
You can book a site inspection by phoning us on 028 9244 7300 during out office hours Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm. You must provide 24 hours’ notice of the need for an inspection to allow us to schedule this request with our inspecting officer.
Please have your reference number to hand. This is normally a reference beginning with FP, BN or UB, the year of application and a reference number e.g. FP/2022/0123.
