Home safety

Every year in the UK more than 6,000 people die in accidents in the home and 2.7 million turn up at accident and emergency departments seeking treatment. But, because the accidents happen behind closed doors in isolated incidents they rarely attract public and media attention.

Accident prevention is easy, relatively inexpensive to deliver and can make a high impact especially for those most vulnerable.

A safe home is a happy home.

Our Home Safety Team can visit you for FREE if you:

  • have children under the age of 5
  • are over 65
  • have someone in your household have a disability/vulnerability

Contact us by phone on 028 9244 7397 or email: home.safety@lisburncastlereagh.gov.uk

We can provide information, advice and (where appropriate) free equipment to make your home safe.
