Childminding Academy

We are currently recruiting for our Childminding Academy.  It aims to provide support and mentoring for people who want to become a childminder or an approved home child carer.

The Lisburn and Castlereagh Labour Market Partnership is offering fully funded places on this employability academy to support you through the childminding registration/approval process.

The academy will include:

  • a pre registration briefing session to develop your understanding of the Childminding and Approved Home Child Care sector
  • free mandatory and certified training (Paediatric First Aid, Safeguarding and Health and Safety)
  • SEN and business training
  • support with childminding registration process
  • one-to-one mentoring and business support
  • a starter pack of equipment, resources, and publications
  • 1 year of NICMA membership to include public and legal liability insurance

Who can apply?

Candidates must meet the following criteria to apply:

 

  • a resident of the Lisburn & Castlereagh City Council area
  • be unemployed or under-employed. Preference will be given to those who are economically inactive or long-term unemployed
  • committed and able to fully participate in all aspects of the academy
  • over the age of 18 years
  • have the right to work in the UK
